Welcome to Sripatro.
Sripatro is a Nepali Panchang, Calendar, Astrology and Ritual companion developed and maintained by Deepak Thapa.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and how it is used when you use the Sripatro mobile application and related services.
By using Sripatro, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect information necessary to provide the services you choose to use.
Depending on the features you use, this may include:
Account Information
When you create an account or sign in, we may collect:
- Email address
- Display name
- Authentication provider (Google Sign-In or Email Magic Link)
We do not store your Google password or authentication credentials.
Optional Personal Information
Certain features allow you to optionally provide information such as:
- Birth details for Kundali generation
- Saved locations
- Ritual preferences
- Language preferences
- Reminder preferences
This information is stored only to provide the requested functionality.
Location Information (Optional)
If you grant location permission, Sripatro may collect your device's approximate or precise location solely to calculate local Panchang, sunrise/sunset times, and other astronomy-based calendar information. Location is processed only to provide these features and is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Device Information
To improve app performance and compatibility we may collect:
- Device model
- Android version
- App version
- Crash logs
- Anonymous diagnostic information
This information cannot be used to personally identify you.
Usage Analytics
We may collect anonymous usage statistics such as:
- Screens visited
- Features used
- App performance
- Crash reports
Analytics are used only to improve Sripatro.
We do not sell analytics data.
3. Permissions We Use
Sripatro only requests permissions necessary for its features.
Internet
Used to:
- Load Panchang data
- Synchronize account information
- Retrieve astrology information
- Access online content
Notifications
If enabled by you, notifications are used to provide:
- Daily Panchang reminders
- Festival reminders
- Ritual reminders
- Calendar updates
Notifications can be disabled anytime from Android Settings or inside the app.
Foreground Service
Sripatro includes an optional Foreground Service that powers the Persistent Panchang Notification feature.
The Persistent Panchang Notification is optional and is started only after the user enables this feature. Users can disable it at any time from the app settings or Android notification settings. When enabled by the user:
- today's Nepali date,
- Panchang,
- Tithi,
- important calendar information,
remain available from Android's notification area without opening the app.
The Foreground Service:
- displays a permanent notification while active,
- may restart automatically after device reboot if previously enabled,
- performs only the user-requested notification functionality,
- does not perform hidden background tracking,
- does not collect additional personal information,
- can be disabled by the user at any time.
The service does not access additional personal data, perform hidden background activities, or run for any purpose other than providing the user-requested persistent notification.
Boot Completed
If the Persistent Panchang Notification has been enabled, Android may automatically restart the notification after device reboot so users continue receiving the same functionality without manually reopening the app.
If the feature is disabled, no foreground service is started after reboot.
Location
Location permission is optional.
If granted, it is used only for:
- Panchang calculations
- Sunrise and sunset times
- Local astronomical calculations
Your location is never sold and is not used for advertising.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Authenticate your account
- Generate Panchang and astrology information
- Personalize reminders
- Improve application performance
- Provide customer support
- Detect abuse and maintain service security
- Comply with legal obligations
We never sell your personal information.
5. Third-Party Services
Sripatro relies on trusted third-party providers to operate.
These may include:
- Google Sign-In
- MongoDB Atlas
- Vercel
- Resend
- Google Play Services
- PostHog Analytics (if enabled)
Each provider processes information according to its own Privacy Policy.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We only share information with trusted service providers that help us operate Sripatro, such as authentication, cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, and payment processing. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it to provide services on our behalf.
We may also disclose information if required by applicable law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Sripatro, our users, or others.
The information described in this Privacy Policy is intended to be consistent with the data disclosures provided in the Google Play Data Safety section.
7. Payments
If premium subscriptions or purchases are offered through Google Play, payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play Billing.
Sripatro does not receive or store:
- credit card numbers
- debit card information
- banking details
- payment credentials
Payment information is processed according to Google's Privacy Policy.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services or comply with legal obligations.
You may request deletion of your account at any time.
Once deleted:
- account information
- saved preferences
- associated personal data
will be permanently removed unless required by law.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access your information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account
- Request a copy of your data
- Withdraw consent for optional permissions
- Disable notifications
- Disable the Persistent Panchang Notification
10. Children's Privacy
Sripatro is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If such information is discovered, it will be deleted promptly.
11. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted communications and secure cloud infrastructure.
While no online service is completely secure, we continuously work to protect your information.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
Material changes will be communicated through the app or other appropriate channels.
Continued use of Sripatro after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
